This image was chosen to be showcased in the online gallery for the Black-and-White Photography Awards (this is the original color version).  It is of a dense stand of aspens in Colorado, restricted to their white trunks and contrasting branch and branch scars.  To take this picture, I used a telephoto lens to compress the perspective.
